Manipur cases climb to 71 after 9 test positive for Covid-19

IMPHAL: Nine more persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in Imphal since Saturday night, taking the total cases in the state to 71. With four persons being discharged from two hospitals here on Sunday, the state currently has 60 active cases, while recoveries have gone up to 11.
Of the four people discharged, two are residents of Thoubal district and the other are from Churchandpur and Kamjoing districts, Manipur health department's additional director Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said.
Out of the nine new positive cases, four were confirmed late on Saturday night and the remaining five on Sunday. Those who tested positive on Saturday include 3 females and a male. While one girl, who hails from Imphal East, had recently returned from Delhi, the other two women are from Kangpokpi district and had come back from Pune. The male, a resident of Imphal West, had also returned from Delhi. Meanwhile, the five, who tested positive on Sunday, include three males and two females. Of them, three are from Ukhurl district and the remaining two are from Noney and Imphal East districts.
